1. Generali Berlin Half Marathon
When: Sunday 3rd April 2022
Berlin is one of Europe’s most diverse and interesting cities thanks to its vibrant art and music scene and the fact that it is steeped in history. Indeed, there have been countless marathon records (including the current world record of 2:01:39 set by Eliud Kipchoge) and personal best’s broken year on year since its conception in 1974. These elements undeniably make the BMW Berlin Marathon famous as the place to go to get your fastest possible marathon times. 4. TCS London Marathon
When? Sunday 2nd October 2022
The London Marathon is one of the best marathons you could ever participate in. Indeed, it offers a winning combination of a quick course and (under normal circumstances) a truly exceptional side-line and crowd support. As one of the most famous and prestigious events of its kind in the world, the London marathon is the World Marathon Major that most runners start their Major journey with. These factors make it one of the most popular, competitive, and over-subscribed running events in the athletics calendar. Indeed, the competition to get one of 50,000 spots available in the race is always fierce as places go very quickly. The iconic route begins at Blackheath in Greenwich and takes you through the vibrant capital and ends next to Buckingham Palace. What’s not to love?
The TCS New York City Marathon is without a doubt one of the most iconic running events in the world. 2022 will see the 51st edition of the event, and it will not be a running engagement to miss! It is considered to be one of the biggest sporting events in the city. Indeed, more than 10,000 international runners take part. On the day of the marathon itself, the area around Central Park is completely dominated by the race. In and around the park there are often heavy traffic jams caused by road closures and diversions. The New York Marathon takes you on a wonderful whirlwind tour of the city. You will run through all 5 of the cities boroughs (Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Manhattan), each of which have their own authentic characteristics and energy before finishing in the legendary Central Park.
