Known for its fast and flat route through the windy city, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon attracts some of the world’s best runners. Its course takes runners on a scenic tour of the city’s diverse neighbourhoods and along the banks of Lake Michigan, making Chicago a city seemingly purpose built for running. The marathon boasts an atmosphere that needs to be seen and heard to believe. Let the roar of the crowds fuel you on your race to the finish in Grant Park on October, 13th! Please note we are not permitted to sell pacakages to US residents.

Secure your place on the 2024 Chicago Marathon start line. Your pre-registration payment is fully refundable and allows you to guarantee a marathon entry, provided you book a hotel & entry package. The Chicago Marathon returns on the 13th October 2024! This is one of the best and fastest marathon courses in the world and one of America’s greatest city comes to life where 45,000 runners line up each year to take part. There is huge crowd support around the course, with marathon fans cheering every runner, on every corner of the route. To add to the atmosphere there will be live bands along the route to cheer you on along the way!

Please Note: All entries are sold as part of a hotel and guaranteed entry package. We cannot sell packages to residents of the USA.

What’s included
- 3, 4 or 5 nights at the Aloft hotel on a room only basis.
- Escort to the Marathon Expo on Friday and Saturday morning to collect your race pack and bibs.
- A complimentary pre marathon warm up run (approx. 5k) on the Saturday morning escorted by our staff, to get your legs moving ready for the marathon.
- A pre-race briefing held at 9:00am and a second one at 9:45am at the Hyatt Place conference room.
- Race day breakfast included for runners and spectators, at the Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention centre, close to the marathon start. An extensive breakfast of both sweet and savoury options, and a room to keep warm from 4:00 am-until you need to leave to enter your corral.
- A dedicated cheer zone for non runners to join our staff and fellow spectators to cheer on your runners (family & friends) can join.
- A post marathon celebration party to celebrate your success with your fellow runners and our staff, at Bub City from 7pm – 11pm including a hot and cold buffet, drinks and music. Maximum capacity is 250 clients, where an invitation will be sent and RSVP required closer to the event.
- A Chicago Architecture Cruise at 9:30am for 90 minuets with drink included within your package. Boarding points are located just a 5-10 minuet walk from your hotel.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon: Event Details

One of the world famous 6 World Marathon Majors, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is a flat, fast and furious course that sees elite and amateur athletes alike lining up to target a race known for its potential to generate personal, national and world records. On the course, you are guaranteed to see all that is great about the city of Chicago. You will start and finish the Chicago Marathon in Grant Park, just by Lake Michigan, before travelling through one of the world’s most magnificent cities. The course has produced four world records, several national records and countless personal bests. You will enjoy the support of 1.7 million spectators as you run through the city.

3 night itinerary

Friday 11th October 2024:

Arrive into Chicago by your own travel means and make your way to your hotel. Upon arrival at your hotel you will be welcomed by a Sports Travel International rep who will be in the hotel reception at various times throughout the day and evening. Hotel check in is from 15.00. After hotel check in and time permitting, head to the marathon expo to collect your race bib. In the evening, we are hosting a meet and greet, a perfect opportunity for solo travellers to meet fellow Sports Travel runners. (Times TBC)

Saturday 12th October 2024:

Today, join our reps for our 5k shakeout run. After, we are hosting a pre-race briefing held at 9:00am and a second one at 9:45am at the Hyatt Place conference room, this is a great opportunity to listen to tips for tomorrow’s event and ask any questions you may have. If you didn’t attend the marathon expo yesterday, today is your final day to do so. Please bring your passport with you as ID. The rest of the day is for you to explore what Chicago has on offer. All clients will receive a Sports Travel beanie prior to marathon day.

On the 13th of October you will line up at the start line with thousands of other runners ready to run The Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

From 4am your Sports Travel Representative will escort you to the Congress Plaza Hotel for an early morning breakfast pre-marathon, and a place to keep warm right by the start line. (Runners and non-runners welcome). Your Sports Travel Representative will later escort any spectators to our cheer zone, where our staff and supporters will be there to cheer all the runners along.

This evening we will be holding a celebration party for all our runners and your companions to celebrate your running success. This will take place at Bub City from 7am-11pm, including complimentary drinks and a hot and cold buffet and live music. Join us at this sprawling, buzzy BBQ eatery & bar with a country-western theme, live music & comfort food. Maximum capacity is 250 people and will be by invitation and RSVP.

Monday 14th October 2024:

The morning will be free for sightseeing or last minute shopping. We are offering a Chicago Architecture Cruise at 9:30am for 90 minuets with drink included within your package. Boarding points are located just a 5-10 minuet walk from your hotel. Hotel check out is 12.00. You will then make your own way back to the airport for your onward or return journey. Please note flights are not included and must be booked independently.
