Join us for an incredible weekend riding the Liege Bastogne Liege Challenge on Saturday before watching the Pros take on the course on Sunday. Our weekend includes an exclusive Cross the Finish experience on the Sunday just a couple of hours ahead of the pros. Cross the finish and get your photo taken on the podium. Stay at the hotel Ramada in Liege within walking distance of the start and finish of both the LBL Sportive and the Pro race. Guaranteed entry for the LBL Challenge, airport transfers from Brussels, bike rental and pro race VIP hospitality are all available. You can also book an entry only option, for your Liege – Bastogne – Liege challenge.

Cross the official finish-line on Sunday, on the same days as the Pros just hours before they finish. Get your photo taken on the official podium.

Become a part of the rich cycling history of the legendary Liege Bastogne Liege by joining us for the 2021 edition of the event at the end of April in 2021. Arrive on the Friday and you have the opportunity to take advantage of our airport transfers from Brussels airport to the event hotel. Alternatively you can make your own way and then join us in Liege. On Saturday you have the chance to ride in the 2021 Liege Bastogne Liege Challenge.

We will stay in the superb 4 star Mercure Liege City Centre (formerly the Ramada Plaza Hotel) in Liege centre which is just a short walk from the start of both the Cyclosportive and the Pro race.

The finish in Liège will be closed officially at 8pm.

The 2021 Liege Bastogne Liege

Liege Bastogne Liege, nicknamed ‘La Doyenne’ (the old woman), is the oldest of the classics races,which is still running today. Don’t be fooled into thinking that Belgium is flat. This race will take you over plenty of steep, hilly sections and is always the stage for some dramatic racing. Team Astana’s Jakub Fuglsang took victory at the 2019 Liege Bastogne Liege.

Liège offers a wealth and wide variety of tourist, cultural and commercial attractions, and is great for visitors all year round. With an impressive selection of museums, shows, exhibitions, concerts and culinary delights, there is never any reason to be bored in Belgium. Liege to us though, is first and foremost famous for its rich cycling heritage.

Ride the route on the Saturday:

On the Saturday, you will have the opportunity to ride in the amateur event, with 274km, 154km and 75km distances to choose from. We will then guide you to the best viewing locations to watch the LBL Pro race on the Sunday. Previous LBL winners include Bernard Hinault, with his heroic solo breakaway victory in 1980, taken despite blizzard conditions; Eddy Merckx, who rode himself to five victories in just a seven year period from 1969 to 1975, including three in a row, and Italy’s maestro Moreno Argentin, with four wins between 1985 and 1991. Other notable winners include legends such as Ferdi Kubler, Josef Fuchs, Sean Kelly, Rolf Sorensen, Adri Van der Poel, Jacques Anquetil, Laurent Jalabert, Alexandre Vinokourov and Alejandro Valverde.

April 23 2021 – Arrival day

We will be staying at the wonderful, 4 * Mercure Liege City Centre on bed and breakfast basis. You will have breakfasts included for every day of your stay, at times to coincide with the weekend’s events. For those who have an entry into the 2021 Liege Bastogne Liege amateur event, bought through us, tonight we will give you your race numbers for tomorrow’s event. At our hotel, you will be permitted to keep your bike in your room with you. The rooms are nice and spacious.

If you have rented a bike from us then your bike will be ready at the hotel for you this evening. We can assist those of you who have travelled with bikes with assembly and getting your bikes ready for tomorrow.

Flying in to Brussels?

If you want to join us in Belgium today, airport transfers to our hotel in Liege will also be available today. Transfers come at an additional cost of €90 for a return transfer which covers you, your luggage and your bike. Tell us of your flight details, at the time of booking, or as soon as possible after booking, and we will collect you from Brussels airport at either 11.00 or at 16.00. We will be unable to accommodate airport transfers after 16:00 today, so if you wish to make use of this service, please book your flights to suit accordingly. On departure we will provide only one single transfer to Brussels airport, this will depart straight after breakfast, and is suitable for flights after 12:00.

Driving yourself to Liege?

If you wish make your own way to Liege by car, and then meet us at the hotel; please let us know well in advance. We will still provide your race entry on arrival, and we are still able to provide you with transfers on Sportive day and Pro race day. We advise you to make your parking arrangements, with the hotel directly, well in advance of your travel.

Single travellers and twin to share – READ MORE HERE

We gladly welcome single travellers on our tours and holidays as we believe that this is a great way to join a group of like-minded individuals and is a great way to make new friends from all over the world. If you wish to join our tour as a single traveller, we can offer you two accommodation options. A single room for your own sole occupancy, or if you want to avoid the single supplement, you can make use of our ‘twin to share’ option. This involves you sharing a room with another single traveller (of the same sex) allowing you to enjoy the event to the full without having to pay extra.

LBL Challenge – Saturday April 24, 2021

After a breakfast which has been arranged to take place early for your convenience, we will ride the short distance from the hotel to the start. There are 3 options of event distance 274km, 154km or 75km events. For those not riding the sportive, you can spend this day at leisure in the city of Liege. As the start and finish of the events are in close proximity to our hotel, it is very easy to get to the start in the morning and back to the hotel after the finish. Riders who book with us are provided with an additional feed and mechanical stop on the course, and will have access to our support minibus. After the Challenge, we will celebrate your achievements, and our reps will brief you about the plans for spectating at tomorrow’s Pro event.

Grand Prix Montagne (GPM)

Your personal time for the timed ascent and the video of you at the top will be electronically registered on 3 of the routes most notable climbs: La Redoute, Roche-aux-Faucons and Saint-Nicolas. This will be done via the chip that is attached to your race number (so be sure to keep your number fully intact). You will be provided with your number in your entry pack.
- Côte de Stockeu : 1000m – 11,0%
- Col du Rosier : 3900m – 6,0%
- Côte de La Redoute : 1900m – 8,0%
- Côte de la Roche aux Faucons : 1400m – 9,9%
- Côte de Saint-Nicolas : 1200m – 7,6%

Liege Bastogne Liege Pro Race – Sunday April 25, 2021

We have the perfect location, in Liege, for accessing the start of the race, where you can see the teams as they arrive, after which we will take you to several excellent vantage points along the route to get as many viewings of the race as possible, including the punishing hills of the Cote St Roch, Cote de Wanne, Cote de Wanneville, Cote de La Redoute and the finish in Liege.

Below you will find a short itinerary of today’s schedule:
- Start area and registration: Place Saint-Lambert, Liege, just a 15 minute walk from the Ramada Hotel
- Rider’s signing on: From 8h55 until 10h05
- Final call – 10:10
- ‘Départ fictif’ at 10:15, place Saint-Lambert
- Official start at 10:30, after a 7.3 km processional roll out from the start and registration area
After watching the start, we’ll walk back to the hotel, collect our bikes and start our Cross the Finish experience.

Cross the Finish Experience with Podium photos

We’ll ride out from the hotel and we’ll ride the final section of today’s Liege Bastogne Liege. Our bike guide will lead you onto closed roads and you’ll ride on the roads that will see the finish of the 2021 LBL later today. You will ride under the official finish line. We will then have exclusive access to the winner’s podium. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to take photos of this amazing experience.

We will have a little bit of time to drop bikes off and get changed at the hotel before walking back for the finish of the race. After watching the finish, you can make the short walk back to the hotel at your leisure.
