2023 Sierre-Zinal weekend travel Itinerary

Thursday 10th August 2023 – Arrival day and The Sierre Zinal gala party

An excellent way to get to Sierre is by flying into Geneva Cointrin Airport and taking the train to Sierre. Once you arrive into the international arrivals terminal in Geneva airport, you can walk into the train terminal, as it is attached to the airport. Look for trains in the ‘Brig’ direction which go every 30 minutes or so. This is a direct journey which takes about 2 hours, so there is no need to change on the way. Sierre Zinal gala party

Many famous French artists have performed here in the past. The line up for 2023 is still to be announced. In 2019, two Swiss singers opened for a renowned French band at the traditional Sierre-Zinal Friday evening concert. Before the show the audience will have the opportunity to meet and greet Sierre-Zinal Elite invitees. Now a part of the Golden Trail Series, the “Race of the Five Four Thousand Peaks” includes the best trail runners in the world who will gladly make a pre-show appearance. Friday 11th August 2023 – Bib collection at the expo

After breakfast we’ll enjoy the race build up around Sierre. There is usually some live music, course information, running brands, and exhibitors, and you will get the opportunity to meet lots of fellow runners. Local cafes and restaurants provide a good place to sit, relax and soak up the atmosphere.

Please ensure that you pick up your Bib Number Packet today. You will also be able to browse the various partners’ booths and watch young runners in the “Five Obstacle Race”.

Saturday 12th August – 2023 Sierre-Zinal

Today is the day of 2023 Sierre-Zinal , starting in the centre of Sierre , Switzerland. The 31 km course starts in Sierre, and finishes, 31 km later in Zinal.

There is a short coach transfer to the start line so please ensure you are there on time (time TBC).

You can prepare a bag, with items that you wish to have available at the finish, and hand it in before you start.

On arrival in Zinal, there will be an afternoon party at the finish line with the organiser. You will collect your medal and have something to eat and drink before enjoying the opportunity to watch the elite runners finish and you can take your return seat on the shuttle bus to Sierre by showing your race number.

The bus is included with your entry.

Sunday 13th – check out day or extend your stay

Make your own way back to Geneva, book our Geneva Airport Transfer, or travel home or onwards by car.
