The TCS New York City Marathon takes you past towering buildings, bustling streets and world-famous iconic landmarks. New York City is the place where dreams are made! Join the excitement of running a marathon and completing the world’s best marathon for the trip of a lifetime to the Big Apple!

Starting in Staten Island, you will run through the Five Boroughs of New York to the finish in the beautiful Central Park. The TCS New York City Marathon is an experience that will remain long in the memory. Whether it’s your first and only marathon or your dream come true, the TCS New York City Marathon is in the hearts of runners all over the World.

As an Official International Travel Operator (ITO) of the TCS New York City Marathon, the Premier Event of the New York Road Runners (NYRR), Sports Travel International can offer you guaranteed entry to the TCS New York Marathon.

TCS New York City Marathon Course:

The Marathon starts on Sunday 3rd November from Staten Island, and runs through all 5 city boroughs (Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Manhattan). There are 4 wave starts. Your start wave is determined by your previous best time (if any) and predicted time. Once your entry is submitted to New York, we cannot alter the time you indicated. Details of the waves will be outlined in our final tour details. The marathon finishes in Central Park.

With almost a million spectators and a carnival atmosphere, the New York City Marathon is an unforgettable experience.

TCS New York City Marathon Expo

Registration takes place at the Jacob K Javits Convention Centre on 11th Avenue at 35th Street. Sports Travel staff will escort you to the marathon expo on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (depending on your arrival day).

The times in 2018 were as the below but these could change for 2019.
- Thursday 10am – 8pm
- Friday 10am – 8pm
- Saturday 9am – 5pm. Last entrance is at 4pm. No exceptions can be made to the hours and rules issued by the organisers.

Thursday 31 October / Friday 1st November, 2019

Fly to JFK with Aer Lingus from Dublin or Shannon (details below) where you will be met upon your arrival at JFK by Sports Travel staff. Airport transfers from JFK international airport to the Westin New York Grand Central Hotel are included in your package. Transport into the city normally takes about 1 hour, depending on traffic. Our guides will accompany you to your hotel and assist with check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you can head to the marathon expo at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

On Friday the Marathon Opening Ceremony presented by United Airlines takes place in Central Park between 4.45pm – 7pm. This spectacular event kicks off the Marathon Weekend with a bang! Marathoners and guests from around the world will come together for a wonderful international celebration of the diversity of the TCS New York City Marathon. The event sees pro athlete appearances, a fireworks display and parade. Grandstand seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with overflow standing along the parade route. The festivities are free and open to all.

Saturday 2nd November 2019 – Abbott Dash to the Finish 5K at 8.45am

Join us along with your friends and family (children 6+ accompanied by an adult 18+ welcome) for the Abbott 5k Dash! This is the perfect opportunity for everybody to sample the excitement and atmosphere experienced when running through the streets of Manhattan. Starting on 47^th Street and 1^st Avenue you run down and turn onto 42^nd Street past Grand Central Station and the New York Public Library before heading up 6^th Avenue towards Central Park where you will cross the Marathon finish line for a superb end to your run in the Park. €28 per person.

If you are not taking part in the Abbott Dash to the Finish 5K or have yet to collected your race bib for the TCS New York Marathon, today is your final day to do so. Otherwise, today is a great day for some sightseeing!

Sunday 3rd November 2019 – The 2019 TCS New York City Marathon

Today’s the big day! The day you have been training hard for. To avoid queuing at 4.30am for the race organisers’ public buses to the start (which leave from the New York Public Library), we provide a private coach from the hotel directly to the race start, leaving the hotel from 6.45am. Departures will be staggered according to your race wave start time, for your maximum convenience. Runners only!

Once you arrive at the start area on Staten Island and proceed through security, you will head to the bag drop area (if you have chosen this option) and then into your corrals (your running bib will show this detail). After you finish the TCS New York City Marathon in Central Park, please make your own way back to the Westin New York Grand Central Hotel for a well earned drink and rest!

Monday 4th November 2019

Today you have a full day to rest your legs, head out to sightsee or finish off your shopping! This evening is also our Sports Travel Celebration Dinner at McGettigans, 70 West 36th St which is a 20/25 min walk from the Westin New York Grand Central Hotel. Join your fellow runners and non-running companions for dinner followed by and evening of musical entertainment. The celebration dinner is included in your package for runners and non-runners.

Tuesday 5th November 2019

Say goodbye to the Big Apple with a suitcase of memories (and sore feet). Head home with Aer Lingus on your flight to Dublin or Shannon. Alternatively, you may be extending your stay in New York.

Single travellers and twin to share

Travelling alone! We welcome single travellers on our tours as it is a great way to join a like-minded group of people and you will make lots of new friends. If you would like to join our group as a single traveller we can offer you two options: a single room or, to keep costs down, you can select our ‘twin to share’ option and we will do our best to twin you with another tour participant.

NYRR takes pride in the fact that the TCS New York City marathon is an extremely diverse race, the only limitation is that all runners must be aged 18 or over.
