The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is essentially a weekend festival of cycling. On the Saturday there will be a free event, the Prudential RideLondon Free Cycle, for 70,000 people around the streets of London.
The main event the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is on Sunday and is followed by a UCI sanctioned Prudential Ride London Grand Prix race for the top Pro cyclists in the world.
The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 event is the cycling world’s equivalent of the Virgin Money London Marathon and, with around 35,000 participants, is the world’s largest cycling charity event.
* The event starts at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the main stadium area of the London 2012 Olympics.
* The 100 mile route follows much of the Olympic Cycling Road Race Gold Medal route, so it goes from London to Surrey and then back into central London, to finish on The Mall, as with the Marathon.
